January 1, 2023 is the anniversary of a significant moment in church history.  On January 1, 1773, the hymn that we know as “Amazing Grace” was sung for the first time in Olney, England.

...Don’t resolve to read your Bible daily...Rather, reframe the way you think about reading the Bible. The goal isn’t to maintain a habit...The goal is to know God. And Bible reading is the path to know Him.

...Supporters of a new era of kings are actually suggesting that we need a single great leader — to embrace worldwide. It’s hoped that this messianic figure will lead the nations out of our economic woes.

...Disciples of Jesus need to know how to relate to idolatrous practices all around them.

...Even the world recognizes that people are always worse than they seem. We as Christians should be at least as wise. We should not be surprised when our leaders fail.

Christ’s humiliation encompassed His entirely earthly ministry, spanning from His incarnation to His burial. Christ was “in the form of God.”...He “emptied himself by taking the form of a servant..."

By James Smith (1802-1862) The time of His coming approaches, and the motto for the year is "Look up!"

...As a testimony to God’s faithfulness, I thought I would share with you some of the things that the Lord has been teaching me. Perhaps the Lord has been teaching you some of these same lessons as well.

...The third temple will be built during the first part of the Antichrist’s reign, as we see in Revelation 11. The act of measuring the temple describes the building process.

...Before we can understand the beauty and power of the light of Christ, we first must understand what separates His light from the darkness all around it.

Did you know that Paul was a youth pastor? Don’t believe me? Take a look at Ephesians 6:1–4...

Christians can look forward to 2023 with hope, but not because the world is getting better. It is not.

It can be tempting for pastors and elders, who serve gathered congregations of saints, to be misled into thinking that we no longer need to reflect on the excruciating sorrows of the damned.

...If you are a pastor thinking through this issue for the first time or a church planter starting a new children’s ministry, my hope is to provide some direction and stimulate further thought.

...As it turns out, most of what we worry about doesn’t even happen or is rectified, and those things we can’t change we shouldn’t worry about anyway.
